Community Engagement Events – ‘Talk today, shape tomorrow’
Scottish Borders Council (SBC) has announced a series of engagement events taking place across the region in local communities from the end of September and throughout October. The locality events ‘Talk today, shape tomorrow’ have been organised to gather information from residents of the Scottish Borders to help shape the 2026/27 Council Plan and the next Council budget.
The Council wants to hear from as many people as possible from a variety of backgrounds, who represent life in the region. SBC want to offer everyone the opportunity to feed into conversations to help shape the future of the Borders, this year events will take place using different formats - in venues in communities and online, both during the day and in the evening and with specific groups. This year’s programme will also include a series of events for those in our communities whose voices are less often heard.
Scottish Borders Council Leader, Councillor Euan Jardine, said: “As we plan the budget for the next year it’s vitally important that we hear as many different voices as possible from within our communities. The conversations are your opportunity to discuss local priorities for the Scottish Borders, I would encourage anyone who hasn’t taken part in previous conversations, to come along. Your feedback can make a real difference for the Borders as we prepare the Council Plan and budget for 2026/27.”
