THE MUSIC OF SELKIRK AND SELKIRKSHIRE
Matt Seattle and John Gibbons
Matt Seattle is a musician for more than 50 years, composer, writer, publisher and music historian. He will be exploring the history and roots of some of the music and songs of Selkirkshire and the life and times of the piper Borthwick Riddell of Dryden. Matt will be supported by John Gibbons, who has recently written a detailed essay on the life and times of the piper Borthwick Riddell of Dryden near Ashkirk (brother of Henry Scott Riddell), and detailing the places where he performed and the tunes he played.
This is an annual joint meeting with the Old Gala Club whose members have been invited to join us in the Parish Church Hall.
More information on Matt Seattle can be found on his website theborderpiper@gmail.com
